This 2003 De Rosa King road bike with a 58 cm frame size is a powerful machine designed for speed and performance, perfect for any road cyclist. The bike features drop bar handlebars, 700C wheels with clincher tires, and a 27 speed road bike shifter for smooth gear changing. The bike has a high gloss black color with a carbon fiber material frame that is lightweight and sturdy. The bike is a 2003 model and was made in Italy, with rim brake-mechanical brake type and no suspension. Very few of these frames made it to the United States, only about 100 per year for all 50 states. I have never seen another on the road while riding.The bike is incredibly smooth to ride, and it mellows out rough roads.
The DeRosa King was used as the team bike by team Alessio starting in 2003 for the Tour de France. This type of DeRosa frame was ridden by Eddy Merckx prior to retiring and starting his own bike company. The King comes with a Mizuno full carbon 1-1/8" fork and an integrated Campagnolo Record Hidden Headset.
Weight frame and fork 3 pounds 8 ounces. Complete bike 20.00 pounds.

Rear Cassette SRAM RED 11-32 tooth.

Stem FSA 7 mm long center of stem bolt to center of handlebar.
Brakes Campagnolo Record side pull brakes, front and rear.
Shifting - Sachs ergo shifters, Campy style specs. Indexed on the rear derailleur, non indexed on the front shifter.
Peddals - choice of two Look pedal sets or toe cages. or all three if you want them.
Peddal extenders are installed, moves the pedal outward1/2 inch allowing more room for the heal section of the foot. Removable if not wanted.

The cost for a complete bike ranged from $5,000.00 t0 $5500.00.
I really hate to sell this wonderful piece of art bicycle. I have achieved age 81, received a defibrillator pacemaker in December of 2022. That was sort of the end of my riding. I no longer have the leg speed and strength for this fine frame. This DeRosa King needs a new owner who will appreciate the wonderful smothe ride, ease of riding and fast speeds this bike is capable of.
I had spent years hoping to still be able to ride at age 65, but this beautiful bike kept me going up to age 80. I'm sure the bike riding contributed to surviving many extra years of life. I was regularly getting over 1000 miles per year, and even more when I was working and had a 26 mile round trip to the office. The local used bike shop offered $500 for the complete bike. I could not let it go for that little. They did offer to help me box the bike for shipping.
